Bicycle Rider Injured in Live Oak Crash at Brommer Street and 17th Avenue
LIVE OAK, CA (May 11, 2021) – A bicycle rider was hospitalized after an accident at Brommer Street and 17th Avenue in Live Oak.
The California Highway Patrol dispatch team received a call about the collision on Tuesday afternoon. Officers reported the crash at about 3:24 p.m.
According to CHP, a vehicle struck the bicyclist for an unknown reason. The driver hit the bicycle rider at the intersection of Brommer Street and 17th Avenue.
Bicyclist Hit by Vehicle Near Elementary School
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near the Live Oak Elementary School. They found the cyclist in the roadway and suffering from minor injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then took the patient to the Dominican Hospital for treatment. Officials did not release the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP did not mention if the motorist stopped or if they sustained any wound following the wreck. Officers forced the area of Brommer Street and 17th Avenue to close after the bicycle crash.
Authorities are still determining the cause of the accident.
