Woman Hit and Killed by Vehicle on Interstate 580 Thursday
Livermore, CA (September 2, 2021) – A 52-year-old woman died following a pedestrian accident that occurred Thursday morning on Interstate 580, the East Bay Times reported.
Preliminary investigation revealed the female party was walking on the right shoulder of westbound I-580. When the pedestrian approached the area near Las Colinas Road, she apparently walked into the traffic lanes.
According to the article published online, an oncoming 2013 Ford Explorer SUV struck the female party. The horrible crash took place at about 4 a.m.
Responding medical personnel found the woman lifeless. Despite life-saving measures, the pedestrian succumbed to her injuries and died. Authorities continue to withhold the name of the deceased pending confirmation.

Meanwhile, the 56-year-old Lathrop man driving the SUV involved in the collision reportedly stayed at the scene.
Investigators handling the case continue to work to determine the precise cause of the deadly pedestrian accident on Interstate 580 in Livermore.
