1 Killed in Livermore Car Crash on Eastbound 580 Freeway Sunday
LIVERMORE (March 29, 2020) – At least one was killed after an alleged wrong-way crash along the Interstate 580 Freeway on Sunday morning.
According to reports by CBS San Francisco and Patch, officers received a call about the fatal accident at around 6:20 a.m. just east of North Livermore Avenue.
A California Highway Patrol dispatch indicated that the incident began when a driver was allegedly seen traveling the wrong-way on the eastbound 580 Freeway near First Street.

Four more vehicles then became involved in the wreck. Officers described them as a white Honda Accord, a white Toyota Camry, a white truck and a black Honda SUV.
Fire department officials along with the paramedics responded to the scene and confirmed that one person died as a result of the collision.
The name of the deceased party has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin. Meanwhile, CHP did not mention if any other individual was hurt as a result of the crash.
Authorities forced all lanes of the 580 Freeway and the North Livermore on-ramp to briefly shut down following the accident. The tragic incident remains under investigation.
