Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Crash on Interstate 580 Near Livermore Avenue
LIVERMORE, CA (March 11, 2023) – A motorcyclist was seriously injured after a crash on the Interstate 580 near Livermore Avenue in Livermore.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the accident took place on Saturday morning. Officers reported the wreck at about 10:34 a.m.
The incident happened on March 11 when the motorcycle rider and a car collided for an unknown reason in the city. The two crashed on the westbound side of the Interstate 580 near the Livermore Avenue off-ramp.
Motorcycle and Car Collide
CHP described the car involved as a yellow Nissan. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene and found the motorcyclist down on the ground.
The victim sustained major injuries as a result of the collision. Medical personnel then rushed the patient to a hospital for treatment.
The report did not disclose the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time. Meanwhile, the cause of the crash is still under investigation.
Officers forced the westbound lanes of the Interstate 580 to shut down near Livermore Avenue following the wreck.
