LIVERMORE, Calif. (June 6, 2018) — A motorcyclist died early Wednesday morning in a collision between their bike and an SUV at Altamont Pass and Carroll Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision took place at 6:34 a.m. this morning between the two motorists. The rider went down off the roadway after colliding with the black SUV. The bike was blocking one of the lanes and the rider was on the shoulder after being thrown off the vehicle. The victim died of their injuries at the scene. Police issued a SigAlert and called for the coroner.
The crash remains under investigation by police.

Police are investigating this collision in an effort to determine who is at fault. At this time, we do not know who is responsible for this collision, however, a full investigation into the circumstances is underway. Oftentimes, drivers do not look out for motorcycles and make lane changes in front of them. We do not know if there were witnesses who can help police figure out what happened in this case.
