Per the Fresno Bee, the vehicles involved included a Lexus ES 300 and a Dodge Ram pickup truck.
The driver of the Lexus, a boy, accompanied by a 41-year-old female passenger, had been heading northbound before the teen veered across traffic lanes into southbound traffic and triggered the collision hitting Michael Farmen, 63.
The collision resulted in the deaths of both the teenager and the woman as they were pronounced deceased at the scene. They were identified by Merced County Coroner’s Office as residents of the McSwain area, Windly Soza and her 12-year-old son, Adrian.
Farmen was miraculously only minorly injured and declined transportation to a hospital from the scene, the article added.
Farmen’s vehicle was completely mangled, according to Mered Sheriff Vern Warnke. He disclosed that he had never seen a vehicle so dismantled with its driver being able to escape serious injuries.
At this time, neither of the deceased parties have been identified as police officials proceed on with their investigation to determine the official cause of the collision.
