LIVINGSTON, California (March 27, 2016) – A fatal hit-and-run collision was reported in the area of Walnut Avenue and Sultana Drive on Sunday night, according to California Highway Patrol Officers.
As per CHP, officers received a call about a person who was found down on the right hand shoulder shortly after 9 p.m. The victim was reportedly hit by a vehicle.
In an article by Merced Sun-Star, CHP identified the pedestrian as 16-year-old Raymond Martinez.
Martinez was riding his bike along Walnut Avenue about 8:30 p.m., when he was struck by a silver vehicle. He was flown to Emmanuel Medical Center in Turlock where he later died.
Meanwhile, the dispatch said the driver involved did not stop to render aid and fled the scene.
