1 Killed in Lodi Crash on Highway 99 Near East Kettleman Lane
LODI, CA (June 5, 2021) – At least one was killed after a big rig crash on Highway 99 near Kettleman Lane in Lodi.
The California Highway Patrol first logged the tragic incident on Saturday morning. According to their dispatch, officers reported the wreck at about 10:35 a.m.
CHP said the semi-truck and a Toyota Corolla collided on Highway 99 in Lodi for an unknown reason. The two crashed near East Kettleman Lane.
Big Rig and Car Collide in Lodi
The tractor-trailer partially went into the soft shoulder of a vineyard nearby. The big rig lost its front-wheel due to the impact of the collision.
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon responded the scene. They later confirmed that one person died as a result of the crash.
The name of the deceased party remains unreleased pending notification of next of kin. The report did not mention if any other person sustained injuries in the wreck.
Meanwhile, CHP forced westbound Highway 99 at Victor Road and the eastbound side at Kettleman to shut down following the crash. The fatal Lodi collision is still under investigation.
