Man, 29, Killed in Car Accident on Highway 99 Near Armstrong Road

LODI (April 24, 2018) – A 29-year-old man was killed in a traffic collision on Highway 99 near Armstrong Road Sunday morning, according to Lodi News-Sentinel.

Officials said the accident happened at about 4:51 a.m. when the driver of a 1999 Toyota allowed his car to drift onto the shoulder of northbound Highway 99. The Toyota reportedly continued to veer left across all lanes and ended up crashing into the center median.

The impact forced the Toyota to overturn before coming to a rest with no light activated in the No. 2 lane of the highway. As per the article, the motorist, who was apparently unrestrained at the time of the crash, was ejected onto the road.

A passing 2005 Nissan heading north on Highway 99 struck the Toyota and its driver. Investigators believed the Nissan driver, a 29-year-old man from Stockton, was traveling at approximately 70 miles per hour when the collision took place.

Responding emergency personnel sadly pronounced the man deceased at the scene. The name of the fatality has not been yet disclosed pending next of kin notification.

Primary reports indicated other vehicles also struck the Toyota driver. At this time, the identities and whereabouts of the motorists involved have not been released thus far.
