Passenger Dies After Collision Near Magazine Street
Vallejo, CA (January 9, 2023) – Logan Pendergraft, an 18-year-old man, suffered fatal injuries following a traffic accident that occurred on the Interstate 80 Freeway.
On January 5, Thursday, a pickup truck and a box truck collided on the freeway near Magazine Street. According to the Reporter, Pendergraft was a passenger in the pickup driven by a 27-year-old male. Preliminary investigation revealed the pickup veered into the shoulder of the freeway and accidentally slammed into a disabled box truck near Magazine Street. The horrible crash took place at approximately 10 a.m.
Emergency crews responded to the scene and found the male passenger in the pickup unconscious. Despite life-saving efforts performed by medical personnel, the teenager passenger sadly succumbed to his injuries and died. The Solano County Coroner later identified the fatal victim as Logan Pendergraft, of Oroville.
Driver Injured in Vallejo Traffic Crash on 80 Freeway
Authorities added the driver of the pickup sustained minor injuries as a result of the wreck. It remained unclear whether the injured motorist was taken to the hospital or released at the scene.
At this time, detectives continue to investigate the precise cause of the deadly accident that happened on the Interstate 80 Freeway in Vallejo.
