Lois Sipe, 61, Killed in Oakdale Motorcycle Crash on Highway 120

OAKDALE, CA (August 12, 2021) – A motorcycle crash killed Lois Sipe on Highway 120 near Valley Home Road in Oakdale.

The California Highway Patrol identified the 61-year-old Oakdale woman as the victim of the fatal wreck which occurred on Wednesday night.

The incident began when Lois Sipe was riding a 2009 Kawasaki Vulcan motorcycle west on Highway 120 in Oakdale. At the same time, a 2012 Toyota Prius was going east behind a pickup at about 55 mph.

The driver of the Prius, 65-year-old Trisha Lewis, tried to pass the truck that was towing a trailer. The Jamestown woman pulled into the westbound lane directly into the path of the motorcyclist.

Motorcycle and Car Collide Head-On

CHP said the car and the motorcycle then collided head-on, west of Valley Home Road. Lois Sipe ended up thrown from her bike as a result of the Oakdale crash.

Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and pronounced the rider dead at the scene. The Modesto Bee and Oakdale Leader wrote that the accident occurred on August 11 shortly before 10 p.m.

Meanwhile, CHP added that the Prius spun out of control and rolled over. Trisha Lewis did not sustain any wound following the wreck.

The Oakdale crash is still under investigation. Anyone with information can call the CHP at 209-545-7440.
