SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY, California (February 25, 2016) — Two people were trapped in a vehicle and at least one of them died Thursday morning following a crash on the westbound Interstate 10 Freeway, just east of California Street in Loma Linda, the California Highway Patrol report said.
The crash was reported at 6:24 a.m. to the CHP. The vehicle veered off the freeway to the shoulder where it slammed into a palm tree. Police closed down the Nos. 5 and 6 lanes so firefighters could extricate the people who were trapped in the vehicle. It is unknown whether any other vehicles were involved or if this was a solo crash.
Police are investigating what led to the crash and will determine liability.
