Man Hospitalized After Hit-and-Run Crash at Barton Road and University Avenue

Loma Linda, CA (March 4, 2023) – A pedestrian suffered serious injuries following a suspected hit-and-run collision that occurred in the area of Barton Road and University Avenue.

Vehicle Hits Man in Loma Linda

On February 28, Tuesday, a 40-year-old man was struck by a vehicle at the intersection in Loma Linda. The Fontana Herald News reported the crash left the man lying on the ground against the center median in the westbound lanes of Barton.

Shortly after 7:43 p.m., emergency crews arrived at the location. Responding paramedics immediately provided medical care to the injured pedestrian. Due to the severe condition of the victim, an ambulance rushed him to a local hospital for further treatment. Personal information on the patient remained undisclosed pending confirmation.

Authorities later confirmed the driver fled the scene after hitting the pedestrian. The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Central Station continue to gather information to identify the hit-and-run suspect in the accident that happened at Barton Road and University Avenue.
