Man and Woman Critically Injured in Lompoc Head-On Crash on Highway 1
LOMPOC (August 5, 2018) – Two were critically injured after a traffic collision along Highway 1 on Saturday, August 4, according to Noozhawk.
The accident involving two vehicles took place at about 7 a.m. south of Ocean Avenue
As per the article, Santa Barbara County Fire Department said for an unknown reason a pickup truck and a sedan collided head-on on Highway 1.
Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene and found a man possibly in his 50s and a woman in her 30s trapped in each car involved as a result of the crash.

The two were extricated from the wreckage with injuries considered as life-threatening. The woman was airlifted to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital, while the man was transported by ground ambulance to Marian Regional Medical Center in Santa Maria.
Their names and condition at this time were not immediately disclosed. Meanwhile, Highway 1 was forced to shut down in both directions following the wreck.
Authorities are still investigating the cause of the incident.
