2 Injured in Traffic Collision on Sweeney Road Sunday
Lompoc, CA (January 9, 2022) – Two people suffered injuries following a car accident that occurred on Sweeney Road, the Noozhawk News reported.
Officials said a solo-vehicle plunged over a small cliff near the 2000 block of Sweeney Road in Lompoc. According to the article published online, the GMC pikcup ended up approximately 75 feet over the side of the road.
The Santa Barbara County Copter 3 team responded to the accident scene. Rescue teams reportedly hoisted two injured people from the wreckage.
Per local news source, one victim sustained major injuries and another sustained moderate injuries. Due to the condition of the man and the woman, helicopters transported them to the Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. Authorities continue to withhold the names of the patients pending confirmation.
At this time, investigators continue to work to determine exactly how and why the car crash on Sweeney Road in Lompoc happened.
