1 Killed, 1 Seriously Injured in Lompoc Head-On Crash on Highway 1
LOMPOC (February 14, 2020) – A traffic collision along Highway killed one person and seriously injured two others on Friday evening.
According to reports by the Noozhawk and KEYT News, the fatal accident involving two vehicles took place at about 6:20 p.m.
California Highway Patrol said a Mazda Miata and a sedan collided head-on for an unknown reason in the northbound lanes of Highway 1 near Santa Rosa Road.
Fire department officials along with the paramedics responded to the scene and extricated the occupants pinned inside the wreckage as following the crash.

One party died as a result of the wreck. A total of two people were hurt upon impact. An air ambulance took one patient to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in critical condition.
Medical personnel also transported the other patient with moderate injuries. The names of the deceased and wounded individuals have not been yet released.
Meanwhile, officers forced the southbound lanes of Highway 1 at Highway 246 and the northbound lanes at Jalama Road to shut down following the wreck.
The cause of the tragic incident remains under investigation.
