LOMPOC, California (September 2, 2016) — A man’s body was recovered Friday night on the Cabrillo Highway 1 after a crash on August 27 about 300 feet down an embankment, just south of Lompoc, the California Highway Patrol report said.
The crash was first reported about 6:42 p.m. last night near Long Canyon. The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene where the body was recovered from the Mitsubishi sedan. The sheriff’s department’s search and rescue team closed down the northbound lane, but the southbound lane was open to traffic.
Police are investigating the cause of the crash and liability.
