Pedestrian Killed in Lompoc Crash on West Ocean Avenue
LOMPOC, CA (July 30, 2022) – A DUI crash along West Ocean Avenue killed a pedestrian in Lompoc.
According to the KSBY News and Noozhawk, the tragic accident took place early Saturday. Officers reported the collision at around 1:49 a.m.
Lompoc police said a vehicle struck a female pedestrian in the city. The car hit her in the the 600 block of West Ocean Avenue.
Woman, 42, Hit by Car
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and found the 42-year-old woman down on the side of the road. She sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel rushed the victim to a hospital, where she died. Her name has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, police located the driver nearby and determined she was under the influence at the time. They soon arrested her for DUI bodily injury and gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.
Officers forced a stretch of Ocean Avenue to shut down following the incident. The fatal Lompoc pedestrian crash is still under investigation.
