Fatal Motorcycle Crash on La Purisma Road in Lompoc
LOMPOC, Calif. (June 22, 2021) — A fatal Lompoc motorcycle versus car accident happened Tuesday afternoon on La Purisma Road.
The collision happened about 2:49 p.m. on June 22nd at Mission Gate Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Additionally, the driver in a Volkswagen reportedly collided with the bike at the Lompoc intersection in front of the entrance to the La Purisima Mission State Historic Park. The Santa Barbara County Fire Department responded and located the rider with major injuries. Unfortunately, the young man in his 20s died at the scene, police said.

The entire roadway became blocked by the collision. Also, police closed the roadway due to the Lompoc motorcycle accident and towed the Volkswagen and bike from the scene.
Investigators are working to determine the cause of the crash and liability. Witnesses may contact the CHP as they piece together what happened to determine fault.
