 Lompoc Pedestrian Accident North H Street; Mary Brown Arrested Hit-and-run Woman Critically Injured in Hit-and-run Pedestrian Accident

LOMPOC, Calif. (August 10, 2022) — A Lompoc pedestrian accident on North H Street involving a hit-and-run driver happened Monday night.

A 51-year-old Lompoc woman suffered major injuries in the crash about 7 p.m. on Monday, August 8th, according to Noozhawk.

A driver identified as Mary Alice Brown, 67, of Lompoc, reportedly struck the victim as she walked through a parking lot in the 1300 block of North H Street. Apparently, the driver knocked the victim to the ground and allegedly drove over her legs and chest area.

Furthermore, the driver reportedly left the scene without stopping to help the injured woman.

Woman Hospitalized in Critical Condition

Paramedics responded and requested a Calstar medical helicopter. They also transported the injured woman to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital where she remains in critical condition. She suffered major trauma to her legs and chest from the crash, police said.

The Lompoc Police Department conducted an investigation that led them to Mary Brown. They suspect she was the driver of the vehicle involved in the crash. Also, authorities arrested her on suspicion of felony hit-and-run. Her bail is set at $50,000. Additionally, she is being held at Santa Barbara County Jail.

Also, it’s unknown at this time if drugs and or alcohol were factors in the Lompoc accident on H Street, but the investigation is ongoing.
