Man, 64, Fatal Victim in Deadly Pedestrian Accident

64-Year-Old Man ID’ed as Victim

LOMPOC, California (April 6, 2016) —  A pedestrian was struck and injured Wednesday morning on the westbound State Route Highway 246 near Sweeney Road.Fatal pedestrian accident in Lompoc on Highway 246

The crash was reported by the  California Highway Patrol.

The driver of a green Ford F-150 pickup truck struck the pedestrian about 5:35 a.m.

The victim identified as 64-year-old David Decker sadly did not survive his injuries and was declared deceased at the scene.

The pickup truck driver, a 35-year-old, remained at the scene and was cooperative with authorities and open to questioning.

No further information has been released at this time.
