Lon Mam, 64, Killed in Hanford Crash Near Kansas Avenue and 11th Avenue

HANFORD, CA (May 4, 2021) – Lon Mam was killed after a car crash near Kansas Avenue and 11th Avenue in Hanford.

Family members identified the 64-year-old Wasco man as the victim of the fatal wreck which occurred last week on Friday evening. He was the owner of Donuts To Go in Wasco for more than 30 years.

The incident happened on April 30 when Lon Mam was driving a 2008 Toyota west on Kansas Avenue in Hanford. At the same time, a 2010 Chevrolet was traveling at a high rate of speed east.

Speeding Driver, 29, Dead in Car Collision

The Chevrolet then swerved into the westbound lane directly into the path of the Toyota. The California Highway Patrol said in the process, the speeding car collided with the Toyota near 11th Avenue.

Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene and confirmed that Lon Mam died as a result of the crash. Kern Golden Empire wrote that the accident took place at around 6:52 p.m.

Medical personnel also pronounced the other motorist, a 29-year-old Tulare man, dead. Meanwhile, CHP believed that alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision.

Officers forced the area of Kansas and 11th avenues to shut down for a time to close following the wreck. The fatal Hanford crash is still under investigation.
