Crash Shears Fire Hydrant in Long Beach
LONG BEACH, Calif. (April 25, 2022) – A Long Beach crash Sunday night between two motorists shears off a fire hydrant at Anaheim Street and Alamitos Avenue.
The crash occurred about 8:19 p.m. on April 24th at the Long Beach intersection, according to the Long Beach Fire Department.
Two vehicles collided due to unknown circumstances. One of them struck a fire hydrant, shearing it off, according to fire officials.
Paramedics responded to the crash scene and evaluated two people for injuries, but they were released at the scene. They did not transport anyone to a hospital.
Meanwhile, the Long Beach Water Department turned off the water to the hydrant, officials said.
Investigators are working on the case and will determine fault for the Long Beach crash.
