Van Strikes, Kills Sleeping Man Near Recreation Park Golf Course
Long Beach, CA (May 11, 2022) – A 66-year-old man died following a pedestrian accident that occurred Tuesday in the area of Pacific Coast Highway and Santiago Avenue.
According to My News LA, a the victim was apparently sleeping in the bushes near the Recreation Park Golf Course. Earlier reports indicated a white Dodge van veered off the roadway for an unknown reason. Subsequently, the van struck the north curb, and entered onto a flower bed along the highway. Officials said the van rolled over several times and hit the man slipping in the bushes.
The horrible rash took place at approximately 1:50 a.m.
Fatal Crash on Pacific Coast Highway in Long Beach
When the Long Beach Fire Department paramedics arrives, they immediately rendered aid to the pedestrian. Medical personnel performed life-saving measures to the victim but he sadly succumbed to his injuries and died at the scene. Authorities continue to withhold the name of the deceased pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.
No immediate information was available on the motorist involved in the unfortunate event. At this time, detectives continue to investigate the precise cause of the deadly accident at Pacific Coast Highway and Santiago Avenue in Long Beach.
