Vehicle Strikes, Kills Pedestrian on Pacific Coast Highway at Cherry Avenue Saturday
Long Beach, CA (April 10, 2021) – A fatal pedestrian accident occurred early Saturday on Pacific Coast Highway, according to My News LA.
The article published online indicated a male party was in the crosswalk at the intersection of PCH and Cherry Avenue. For reasons still unclear, the man walked into the crosswalk against a red signal.
Fatal Pedestrian Accident in Long Beach , April 10
The driver of a passing 2009 Honda Civic did not immediately see the pedestrian, and struck him. Officials said the collision resulted in serious injuries to the pedestrian. Responding paramedics performed life-saving measures to the victim, then rushed them to a local hospital. The pedestrian later sadly succumbed to his injuries and died.
Meanwhile, authorities mentioned the 20-year-old Anaheim man driving the Civic stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation process.
Detectives assigned to handle the case continue to work to determine several factors surrounding the deadly pedestrian accident in Long Beach.
