1 Killed, 3 Injured in Long Beach Crash Near Pacific Coast Highway and Junipero
LONG BEACH, CA (June 8, 2023) – A crash killed one person and injured several others near Pacific Coast Highway and Junipero Avenue in Long Beach.
According to the KTLA News and ABC 7 News, the tragic accident took place on Thursday evening. Officers reported the wreck on June 8 at around 7:19 p.m.
The incident began when an SUV was going west on Pacific Coast Highway at Junipero Avenue in Long Beach. For an unknown reason, the car drifted into the eastbound lanes.
Multiple Cars Collide
Police said the SUV then slammed into another car head-on. The second car rolled over upon impact and at least two more vehicles became involved in the process.
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and pronounced the man driving the SUV dead at the scene. Three other men in the other cars ended up hurt as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel rushed them to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released.
Meanwhile, police forced Pacific Coast Highway to shut down in both directions from Junipero Avenue to Cherry Avenue following the wreck. The cause of the fatal Long Beach crash is still under investigation.
