1 Killed, 2 Injured in Crash on 710 Freeway Near Long Beach Boulevard
LONG BEACH, CA (May 14, 2022) – A crash killed one person and injured two others on the 710 Freeway in Long Beach.
According to the Long Beach Post and My News LA, the tragic accident took place on Saturday morning. Officers reported the wreck shortly after 5:50 a.m.
The California Highway Patrol said two vehicles collided for an unknown reason. They crashed on the southbound side of the 710 Freeway near Long Beach Boulevard and Del Amo Boulevard.
A report from Long Beach Fire indicated that a truck and a car were involved in the incident. The truck rolled onto its side while the car caught fire upon impact.
2 Vehicles Collide
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and then extricated a trapped occupant from the wreckage. They pronounced one individual dead at the scene.
Two more people ended up hurt as a result of the collision. Medical personnel soon rushed them to a hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.
The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released. Meanwhile, the cause of the fatal Long Beach crash is still under investigation.
CHP forced the southbound lanes of the 710 Freeway to shut down for several hours near the boulevard following the wreck.
