Motorcyclist Killed in Collision at Long Beach Boulevard and Wardlow Road Saturday
Long Beach, CA (June 19, 2021) – A motorcycle rider died following a traffic accident in the area of Long Beach Boulevard and Wardlow Road Saturday afternoon.
The Press Telegram reported a 23-year-old Long Beach woman was behind the wheel of a Toyota RAV4 traveling on the streets of Long Beach. Preliminary investigation revealed the Toyota attempted to make a left turn from southbound Long Beach Boulevard to eastbound Wardlow. As the woman drove into the intersection, she struck a 2006 Yamaha YZ450F motocross motorcycle heading north on Long Beach Boulevard. At this time, it remained unclear who had the right of way at the time of the collision.

The force from the impact resulted in serious injuries to the helmet-less male rider. Shortly after 1:40 p.m., medical personnel arrived at the location and rendered aid to the injured motorcyclist. Due to the condition of the patient, paramedics transported the man to a hospital. The article published online said the rider later succumbed to his injuries and died. Pending confirmation and notification of next of kin, the identity of the deceased remained undisclosed.
Meanwhile, authorities mentioned the Toyota drive stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation process.
