Man, 90, Killed in Long Beach Hit-and-Run Crash at Willow and La Vere
LONG BEACH (September 16, 2019) – An elderly pedestrian was killed after an alleged hit-and-run crash at Willow Street and La Vere Drive Sunday night.
Police said a 90-year-old man was trying to cross Willow Street northbound at La Vere Drive when he was struck by a vehicle. The driver was headed west on Willow at the time.
According to reports by The Daily Breeze and CBS Los Angeles, the accident was reported on September 15 at about 9:25 p.m. near the intersection.

Long Beach Fire Department officials along with the paramedics responded to the scene and found the victim lying in the roadway and suffering from severe injuries following the collision.
He was immediately transported to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead. His name has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that the motorist involved did not stop to render aid and took off. The suspect car was described as a white Toyota truck.
