Scooter Rider Killed in Long Beach Crash Near 7th Street and Ohio Avenue
LONG BEACH, CA (July 17, 2021) – A scooter rider was killed after a crash near 7th Street and Ohio Avenue in Long Beach.
The incident happened when a 32-year-old Orange man was riding a Veo electric scooter in the area of 7th Street and Ohio Avenue. At the same time, a 2010 Ford Mustang was going west on 7th Street.
Long Beach police said for an unknown reason, the car struck the scooter rider near the intersection. The two collided in the Rose Park neighborhood.

Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and found the victim severely injured as a result of the collision. They rushed him to a local hospital, where he died.
The name of the deceased man has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin. Meanwhile, police affirmed that the man driving the Mustang stopped after hitting the rider.
Officers determined that the motorist was driving with an expired license when he hit the victim. Authorities forced the area of 7th Street and Ohio Avenu to shut down following the crash.
