Man Struck, Killed By Vehicles at PCH and Molino Avenue
LONG BEACH, Calif. (June 10, 2024) – A pedestrian was struck by a hit-and-run driver in Long Beach while crossing East Pacific Coast Highway and then hit by two more motorists.
A total of three vehicles hit the man at around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 9th in the 2600 block of East PCH, near Molino Avenue, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
The Long Beach Police Department and paramedics responded to the scene. However, upon arrival, they discovered only one of the three drivers had stopped after the collision.
The details of the pedestrian accident were reported in the Los Angeles Times.
The first and the third drivers vehicle fled the scene without stopping, police said. The initial crash happened in the eastbound No. 2 lane of PCH. The man attempted to cross the roadway in a northbound direction outside of a crosswalk. The victim landed in the fast lane where he was hit by a 2017 Kia Sportage.
The driver of the Sportage stopped called 911 for help. Then that driver witnessed the third vehicle hit the man and drive away. The white truck reportedly dragged the victim behind it just east of Molino Avenue.
The unidentified man was pronounced dead at the scene following the Long Beach pedestrian accident.
Meanwhile, Long Beach police are asking witnesses or anyone with information about the suspects to contact them at 562-570-5130.
