Man Hit by Car in Fatal Long Beach Crash
LONG BEACH, Calif. (Feb. 11, 2022) – A Long Beach pedestrian accident happened Thursday night on Artesia Boulevard near Orizaba Avenue.
A driver struck the man who was lying in the roadway about 8:30 p.m., according to the Long Beach Police Department.
Police officers responded to the scene of the collision and located an adult male pedestrian trapped underneath a vehicle, police said.
Authorities called for paramedics to respond. However, the person was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff Coroner will release the man’s name after his relatives are notifiied.
Teenage Driver Struck Pedestrian on Artesia Boulevard
Investigators report a 17-year-old Long Beach boy driving a 2011 Lincoln MKS struck the victim as the vehicle traveled eastbound on Artesia
Boulevard, police said.
The driver immediately stopped and remained on scene following the pedestrian accident on Artesia Boulevard. Police investigating the crash do not suspect distracted driving, speeding and or impaired driving are factors in this collision.’
Meanwhile, the teenager did not have a driver’s license. Police released the driver into the custody of a parent.
