LONG BEACH: Pedestrian Killed in Crash at Anaheim Street and Junipero Avenue

Pedestrian Struck, Killed by Vehicle in Long Beach

LONG BEACH, Calif. (Oct. 7, 2026) – A driver struck and killed a pedestrian Tuesday morning at Anaheim Street and Junipero Avenue in the Cambodia Town area of Long Beach.

The man was walking southbound in a marked crosswalk across Anaheim Street at Junipero Avenue when an eastbound 2010 Toyota Prius struck him down in the No. 1 Lane.

Police were notified around 5:40 a.m. on Oct. 6th and responded to the Long Beach intersection, where they found the injured man down in the roadway.

Paramedics transported the pedestrian to a hospital, but unfortunately, he did not survive.

Meanwhile, the driver stopped and remained at the scene where they were questioned by the Long Beach Police Department.

Detectives do not suspect speed, impaired driving, or distracted driving were factors in the crash.
