At Least 1 Badly Hurt in Fiery Crash on 80 Freeway Saturday
Loomis, CA (May 15, 2021) – An accident involving a semi truck occurred early Saturday on Interstate 80 Freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol dispatch.
Earlier reports indicated a big rig collided with a Ford Expedition in the westbound side of I-80 Freeway. The crash took place at the Horseshoe Bar Road offramp.
Shortly after 12:40 a.m., emergency teams arrived at the accident scene. First responders found a third vehicle involved in the wreck engulfed in flames.
Responding firefighters worked extensively to put our the fire, and extricate the occupants.
Major Injury Multi-Vehicle Accident in Loomis, May 15
The California Highway Patrol dispatch mentioned the multi-vehicle collision resulted in major injuries. However, at this time, the exact number of parties hurt in the crash and their names remained undisclosed.
Investigators handling the case continue to work at this time to determine exactly how and why the car and truck accident in Loomis happened.
