Lorena Negrete, 34, Killed in Riverside Crash on 215 Freeway and 60 Freeway
RIVERSIDE, CA (November 11, 2021) – Lorena Negrete was killed after a car crash on the 215 Freeway in Riverside.
The coroner’s office identified the 34-year-old Ontario woman as the victim in the fatal wreck which took place on Thursday morning.
The incident began when Lorena Negrete was riding a vehicle south on the 215 Freeway near Box Springs Road in Riverside.
The California Highway Patrol said for an unknown reason, a Toyota Sienna cut off a truck. The truck spun out of control while the car slammed into a guardrail at the eastbound 60 Freeway interchange.
6 Injured in Truck and Car Crash
Lorena Negrete died at the scene of the crash. The Press Enterprise and Patch wrote that the accident occurred shortly after 7 a.m.
Firefighters along with the paramedics extricated the other trapped occupants from the wreckage. A total of six other people ended up hurt as a result of the collision.
Two of the patients, described as children, sustained minor to moderate injuries. Medical personnel took all six wounded parties to the hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, CHP forced the freeway to shut down for several hours following the wreck. The Riverside crash is still under investigation.
