4 Vehicles, Rollover Crash in Lost Hills
KERN COUNTY, Calif. (May 27, 2018) — Alicia Ortiz, 58, and Ruben Cobian Fletesare, 64, were killed, five others were injured Sunday night in a 4-vehicle crash on the northbound Interstate 5 Freeway at Twisselman Road off ramp in Lost Hills, a California Highway Patrol report said.
Lorena Fetes Ortiz, 29, was driving a 2002 Ford northbound on the Interstate 5 Freeway when she reportedly veered to the left into the center median, but the veered to the right and overturned six times on the dirt median.
The collision took place about 6:23 p.m. this evening. Paramedics responded to treat and transport the five including Gloria Ortiz, 20, a 6-year-old boy, a 10-year-old and a 2-year-old boy who were injured in the collision, but sadly two people who were passengers in Ortiz’s vehicle succumbed to their injuries at the scene. Both victims were residents of Patterson. Firefighters had to extricate two people believed to be juveniles who were pinned in a vehicle. At least one person was airlifted to a hospital with major injuries suffered in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation by police.

Police are investigating this collision to determine the cause and liability. At this time, police are collecting evidence at the scene and interviewing those involved to determine if any criminal charges should be filed. It’s unknown whether drugs and or alcohol were factors, nor whether or not a traffic violation led to the crash.
