Lorenzo Martinez and Eric Flores Seriously Injured in Kerman Crash on Highway 145
KERMAN (July 7, 2019) – One was killed and several others were seriously injured after a traffic collision along Highway 145 Friday, July 5.
According to an article written by The Fresno Bee, the fatal accident involving a big rig took place just after 1:45 p.m. south of Floral Avenue.
California Highway Patrol said Lorenzo Martinez was driving a 2006 Dodge Durango north on Highway 145 when for an unknown reason he veered into the southbound lane.
A tractor-trailer tank truck rig operated by 33-year-old Saul Seaens Lopez turned into the northbound lane in an attempt to drive around the SUV and avoid the crash, however, the car hit the tanker.

The Dodge rolled over multiple times as a result of the crash. A passenger in the Durango was pronounced dead at the scene.
Lopez and another occupant, Eric Flores, suffered major injuries upon impact. The other two people riding the SUV sustained moderate injuries after the incident.
All wounded patients, who are residents of Madera, were transported Community Regional Medical Center for treatment. Their condition remained unknown.
Meanwhile, the name of the deceased victim has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin. Lopez, of Kerman, was unharmed in the collision. The cause of the tragic accident is still under investigation.
