Lori Gallo, 47, ID’d as Suspect in Merced DUI Crash on G Street
MERCED, CA (January 21, 2022) – Authorities detained Lori Gallo after a DUI crash on G Street in the city of Merced.
Police determined that the 47-year-old woman was under the influence of alcohol when the wreck took place on Thursday.
The incident began when Lori Gallo was driving a 2022 Maserati at about 125 mph south on G Street, approaching Cardella Road, in Merced. She then tried to pass a Lexus heading in the same direction.
In the process, the woman got in close proximity to the other vehicle and side-swiped it. After some time, her Maserati struck a Honda stopped at the intersection.
2 Injured in Wreck
Police said Lori Gallo and the Lexus went off the road and into a ditch as a result of the crash. A fourth vehicle came and hit the debris scattered on G Street.
The Merced Sun Star and Your Central Valley wrote that the accident occurred on January 20 at about 7:06 p.m. Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and found two people hurt.
Medical personnel took the drivers of the Lexus and the Honda to the hospital for treatment of unknown injuries. The report did not disclose the names of the wounded patients and their condition.
Meanwhile, police soon arrested Lori Gallo for felony DUI collision causing injury and booked her into the Merced County Jail. The Merced DUI crash is still under investigation.
