Man and Dog Killed in Crash Near Katella Avenue and Los Alamitos Boulevard
LOS ALAMITOS, CA (March 3, 2022) – A crash killed one person and a dog near Katella Avenue and Los Alamitos Boulevard in Los Alamitos.
According to the KTLA News and My News LA, the tragic accident took place on Thursday evening. Officers reported the wreck at about 6:15 p.m.
Los Alamitos police said eight cars collided for an unknown reason in the city. The vehicles crashed near the intersection of Katella Avenue and Los Alamitos Boulevard.
3 Injured in Wreck
A man and a dog, a yellow Labrador Retriever, riding in the same car died at the scene. Firefighters along with the paramedics extricated two trapped occupants from the wreckage.
A total of three people ended up hurt as a result of the collision. Medical personnel then took the rescued patients to a hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.
Police added that the third individual declined further aid. The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released.
Meanwhile, officers forced the area of Katella and Los Alamitos to shut down for hours following the wreck. The cause of the fatal crash near Los Alamitos Medical Center is still under investigation.
