Scooter Rider Killed in Los Alamitos Crash at Claremore and Cerritos
LOS ALAMITOS, CA (August 18, 2021) – A scooter rider was killed after a crash at Claremore Lane and Cerritos Avenue in Los Alamitos.
According to the CBS Los Angeles and My News LA, the tragic accident occurred on Wednesday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck at about 2:20 p.m.
Los Alamitos police said a motorized scooter rider and a vehicle collided for an unknown reason. The two crashed at the intersection of Claremore Lane and Cerritos Avenue.
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene. They found the person riding the scooter down on the ground as as a result of the collision.
Scooter and Vehicle Collide
Medical personnel then rushed the patient to a hospital, where they died. The name of the deceased victim remains unreleased pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that the driver and passengers of the vehicle stopped after hitting the other party. They stayed at the site and cooperated with the authorities.
Officers forced the area of Claremore Lane and Cerritos Avenue to shut down for a time following the wreck. The cause of the fatal Los Alamitos crash is still under investigation.
