LOS ANGELES, California (March 22, 2016) — Two pedestrians were struck and injured Tuesday morning by a driver in a white vehicle that allegedly ran through a red traffic light and hit them on West Centinela Avenue and South Sherborne Drive, a California Highway Patrol report said.
The crash was reported about 7:45 a.m. this morning. The driver in the white vehicle initially stopped, but then appears to have fled the scene on foot. The circumstances were unclear in the report, but the Los Angeles County Fire Department responded with two ambulances to rush the victims to a local hospital for treatment.
The intersection was temporarily closed for an investigation into the hit-and-run crash.
“Drivers who fail to stop and help an injured person are criminals under California law,” said Attorney James Johnson. “Typically, police offer a reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to their arrest.”
