2 LAPD Officers Injured in Car Crash Near Main Street and Broadway
LOS ANGELES (August 7, 2018) – On August 5, Sunday, a suspected drunken driver crashed into a parked police car on Gage Avenue.
According to NBC News, LAPD officers had stopped their patrol car for a routine traffic stop on Gage, between Main Street and Broadway, around 1 a.m.
Drunken Driver Slams Into Police Car in Los Angeles
A passing motorist then apparently failed to slow down in the area and plowed his vehicle into the rear of a police car. The impact forced the police car to shove into an adjacent vehicle that was being investigated.
Medical records indicated two LAPD officers suffered injuries as a result of the collision. Officials mentioned the injuries were not life-threatening, and the victims refused to be taken to hospitals.
Shortly after the incident, the driver who triggered the crash was reportedly arrested on suspicion of drunken driving. It was not immediately known if he was injured.
Detectives continue to investigate the case at this time.
