2 Children Injured After Hit-and-Run Car Accident at 49th and Ascot Friday
LOS ANGELES, Ca (January 3, 2019) – Two children suffered injuries following an alleged hit-and-run car accident in the area of 48th Place and Ascot Avenue Friday afternoon.
According to KTLA and ABC7 News, a suspected drunk driver smashed his vehicle into the front yard of a in Central-Alameda home at the corner of 48th and Ascot. In the process, the vehicle struck two juveniles apparently playing in their residence.
Officials described the suspect vehicle as a dark-colored Nissan pickup.
Our sources indicated a 2-year-old boy ended up pinned underneath the fence. Furthermore, his 4-year-old brother also sustained injuries as a result of the crash. Responding medics rushed both patients to L.A. County+USC Medical Center for treatment.
The names of the injured parties remained undisclosed.

Meanwhile, authorities mentioned the driver fled the scene after the collision. However, family members who witnessed the incident pursued the suspect. Police eventually caught the suspect and was taken into custody on suspicion of hit-and-run and intoxicated driving.
Further investigation on the case is ongoing.
