LOS ANGELES, California (January 13, 2017) — A driver was killed and a passenger suffered major injuries Thursday afternoon when the vehicle struck a power pole on Valley Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The crash took place about 1:55 p.m., just west of Cyril Avenue.
The 50-year-old driver of the 2007 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck allegedly lost control of the vehicle and struck a wooden power pole on the driver’s side of the vehicle. The man died of his injuries at the scene of the crash.
His passenger was described as a 62-year-old man. He was critically injured, but in stable condition at the hospital, police said.
Police are investigating the cause of the crash and liability.
