Hit-and-run Driver Dies in Crash After Fleeing Pedestrian Accident
LOS ANGELES, California (Sept. 6, 2017) — A man who struck and injured a pedestrian early Wednesday morning was killed in a second collision with a pole and a Ford Mustang as he fled the scene of the first crash.
The driver of the second vehicle and the pedestrian were both taken to hospitals for treatment of undisclosed injuries. They were both listed in stable condition and are expected to survive.
Police stated the deceased driver was thrown from his white utility pickup truck in the second collision about 12:45 a.m. this morning in the Hancock Park community. Video footage from On Scene TV shows the truck’s front-end with major damage.
The fatal crash took place at Beverly Boulevard and Highland Avenue, police said.
The two collisions are under investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department’s West Traffic Bureau.
