Man Killed in Los Angeles Hit-and-Run on 110 Freeway at Adams Boulevard
LOS ANGELES, CA (July 18, 2021) – A hit-and-run crash killed a man pushing a wheelchair on the 110 Freeway in Los Angeles.
According to the FOX 11 News and My News LA, the tragic accident occurred on Sunday morning. Officers reported the collision at about 4:25 a.m.
The incident began when a man was walking on the Adams Boulevard off-ramp at the northbound 110 Freeway in downtown Los Angeles. He was pushing a wheelchair at the time.
Victim Pushing Wheelchair Hit by Vehicle
The California Highway Patrol said for an unknown reason, a vehicle struck him. The man in his 40s and the wheelchair ended up lying in the No. 3 lane as a result of the crash.
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and pronounced the victim dead at the scene. His name has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the driver did not stop to render aid and fled the area. Officers forced the Adams Boulevard off-ramp at the 110 Freeway to shut down following the collision.
The fatal Los Angeles hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
