Motorcyclist, 43, Killed in Los Angeles Hit-and-Run on 10 Freeway
LOS ANGELES (August 5, 2018) – A motorcyclist was killed after an alleged hit-and-run crash along the eastbound 10 Freeway early Sunday morning, according to NBC Los Angeles.
The accident took place on August 5 at about 4:51 a.m., just east of La Brea Avenue.
As per the article, California Highway Patrol said a 43-year-old man was riding a motorcycle on the collector road when he made an unsafe turning movement to the left.
He then slammed into a raised center median between the main portion of the 10 freeway and the collector road, causing him to be ejected from his bike.

The rider ended up in the No. 4 lane where he was struck by an oncoming vehicle. He died as a result of the wreck.
The name of the deceased victim has not been yet released. The driver who hit him did not stop to render aid and fled the scene.
CHP added that a woman driving a Toyota Corolla veered to avoid the rider but collided with the motorcycle instead. The force of the collision prompted both the Toyota and the bike to be engulfed in fire.

In this case, it is apparent that the driver of the first vehicle involved will be held responsible for that killed the motorcyclist. Leaving the area following a crash is a serious crime and is punishable by law, especially if the collision killed another individual.
The surviving family of the deceased man will have then the right to pursue a wrongful death lawsuit against the at-fault party who did not stop to render aid to the rider. The claim will include a recompense for the funeral costs, loss of future income and loss of love and companionship.
