LOS ANGELES, California (March 31, 2016) –– A man getting out of his vehicle following a traffic accident was struck and killed Wednesday morning by an oncoming vehicle on the eastbound Interstate 10 Freeway at Hoover Street, a California Highway Patrol report said.

The fatal crash took place about 6 a.m. in the morning and the man died of his injuries at the scene.

Police closed down the Hoover ramp to investigate the collision. The name of the man who died has not been released pending notification of his family.
