Pedestrian Killed in Los Angeles Hit-and-Run at Alameda and Palmetto Streets
LOS ANGELES, CA (February 28, 2022) – A hit-and-run crash killed a pedestrian near Alameda and Palmetto streets in downtown Los Angeles.
According to the CBS Los Angeles and My News LA, the tragic accident took place on Monday night. Officers reported the collision at around 8:40 p.m.
Police said a vehicle struck the pedestrian for an unknown reason. The driver hit the person near the intersection of Alameda and Palmetto streets in the city of Los Angeles.
Driver Hits Victim, Flees Scene
Firefighters along with the paramedics then arrived at the scene near the Skid Row. They found the victim left lying on the ground as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel soon pronounced the patient dead at the scene. The name of the deceased party has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that the motorist did not stop to render aid to the victim and fled southbound on Alameda. They described the car as a 2000 pickup truck.
Officers forced the area of Alameda and Palmetto streets to shut down following the incident. The cause of the fatal Los Angeles hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
