Pedestrian Man Struck in Hit-and-Run at 6th and Towne Avenue
DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES- According to KTLA 5 News, a hit-and-run pedestrian versus auto collision was reported Thursday morning after midnight at the intersection of 6th Street and Towne Avenue.
At roughly 12:20 a.m., the driver of a dark-colored vehicle, possibly a Cadillac CTS, struck a pedestrian man thought to have been in his 50s as he crossed the intersection.
A witness who saw the incident take place gave a statement saying that the motorist initially fled the scene but then returned back to the scene briefly. The witness questioned the driver briefly before he got back into his car and fled the scene again for the second time.
The victim who remains unidentified suffered life-threatening injuries including head and body trauma as he was rushed to an emergency room remaining in critical condition.
The witness was able to obtain the suspect’s license plate allowing police officials to pull up the vehicle and owner information. The suspect is described as a black male in his 50s.
